About the Authors

Samantha Jennings

I know not many of you would read this (sniffles), but hey, I may make it sound interesting!

I did not start writing novels until the earlier part of 2014, when I was intrigued by my mother's idea (you'll read her biography later, maybe?) of writing a novel partially based on a mythical dog that was rumoured to have roamed East Anglia as far back as the Middle Ages. I myself had not heard of this historic legendary dog, even though I live in East Anglia (Wait, I'm not boring you yet, am I?). When I read the small draft of the now published Dawn of the Awakening Part 1: Demon's Bite, I leapt at the prospect of writing it with my mother.

What has always been with me is my love of art, especially working with pastels. Unfortunately, I never pursued it as a career, but I continue to do the odd project as a pastime hobby. Animals were my speciality, however, I am in the process of learning to draw people and landscapes, which I have always found difficult, since most of my skills were self-taught before I studied art at Fakenham High School.

Ever since I was I child I have lived with dogs and realized how much I loved animals, so I studied varying courses relating to animal care spanning 7 years of my life! (A lot, right?) I finally graduated with a Foundation Degree in Ecology & Conservation.

I currently live in Norfolk, England, and have been rather busy writing three novels (can you believe that?) Dawn of the Awakening Part 2: Dragon Scales, Dragon Fire, and Blackthorn, which is now gathering pledges (If you haven't heard of this it means you put money towards a book, but get extras like limited edition artwork, invitations to launch parties, tours with the authors, etc) with Unbound (a UK based crowdfunding site for books!) at: https://unbound.co.uk/books/blackthorn, and my own I've called Wolfseer, which a draft can be seen on Inkshares (another crowdfunding site for books, but in the US) here at: https://www.inkshares.com/books/wolfseer and read the first chapter for free!

Well, I hope I didn't bore you with a summary of my life!

Amanda Lloyd Jennings

Amanda Lloyd was born in Suffolk England in 1962. She moved to Leicestershire at the age of four and was raised on her family farm where she found her love of working with, and painting animals.

She has worked with cattle, sheep, horses, goats, chickens, pigs and dogs. But her true passion has always been writing and artwork from an early age at school and has come from fantasy when she was introduced to the world of Pern by Anne McCaffrey and J R R Tolkien's books the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings, and also western books of J T Edson.

In the early 80's she obtained her ‘A’ level art award in fine art. She was introduced to Dungeons and Dragons and Karate, and in 1988 she moved to Norfolk England and later Married, adding Jennings to her name. She has worked in several factories for numerous years, has been a carer for four years and now returns to poultry farming and lives still in Norfolk England with her husband and two wonderful grown-up twin daughters.

Amanda has published a fantasy novel which was co-written with her daughter Samantha as a self-published author. She was inspired by a visit to Norwich Castle dungeon one day as she accompanied her family on her twin daughter’s birthday.

So moved by a story she heard concerning a little girl way back in the middle ages that she raced downstairs one Sunday morning and started writing her first book in 2014.
